Craft breweries are everywhere…. Birrificio del Ducato’s IPA

I had this Italian craft brewery beer yesterday and I have to tell you how surprised I was at its taste. Fantastic!

Look: hazy orange with great head. Slightly darker than most IPAs

Smell: smells like an IPA. Hops, yeast and spices.

Taste: this is typical of an IPA but a bit sweeter. Good hop presence with malts and well rounded with sweetness

Finish: it finishes sweeter and the very last sip was alcohol

Feel: medium mouthfeel with good carbonation. Alcohol is well balanced until that last sip which I don’t mean to make sound like a bad thing.

Context: very well done. This is a good IPA from Italy.

Repeater: Put it this way, there are lots of beers out there so I don’t know if I’d pick this one over stouts and porters but that’s only because I prefer these. However, if I am feeling IPA and this one’s on the menu… Yes, I would have it again.

Pairing: Grilled meats or fish. Cheese platters.
