Life is crowded with tasks, chores, projects, ideas and obligations. Added to the 3 main rocks one should have in his jar results in a spill over. That lid wouldn’t shut a few months ago. If you want to know what I am talking about, the whole jar thing, I am happy to see a fellow wordpress blogger feature it in one of their posts; click here. It’s a good read.
Anyhow, between all the stuff going on at work and the very simple fact that I’ve forgotten to slow down and smell the roses, I have to slow down somewhere and unfortunately the Beergonaut is on the list of rocks that never should have been anything bigger than a decent size pebble.
That being said, I made a list of things to do, things I took on, things I want to do and things I have to do. The good news is that Beergonaut is on the list of things that are going to have to be on a back burner for a little while just so that I can catch my breath and make sens of a few things. I suppose it could be worst, other things in my life ended up on the “in 5 years” list while others ended up on “when I retire” or worst… “in my next life”. The next life list sounds drastic I know, but who am I kidding, a published musician, at 45 years old with kids and a good paying job already? Better luck next life rockin’ Beergonaut.
So, I momentarily leave you today with a simple thought… When you spend lots of time “securing” yourself with multiple plan Bs, you’re only building the illusion of security. When you go through that list and put on hold or even eliminate some of these plan Bs you’ll actually find it quite liberating. Freedom and security can’t blossom in clutter. My plan B is now to make plan A work so that I can one day enjoy plan B(s). Beergonaut wasn’t so much a plan B. Loving beer and sharing it is a good thing, only a magazine? Not now. Later.
See you soon. Cheers!
