Steam: There really used to be two kinds of beers; ales and lagers, but as of recently, a new type of brewing seems to be earning its own distinction; Steam. It is a unique American beer that was first introduced in California during the Gold Rush and is brewed using bottom-fermenting lager yeast at top-fermenting ale temperatures. No sub-categories have been defined yet but my guess is it shouldn’t be too long before it starts.
